Way Off

I waited, waded through all that you said
Would crash down my walls, bring me pain to my head
For all of the things I've said and done wrong
Well, all I can say is you were way off

Someday I know the sun will shine
And bring me my day, this can't be the right time
The light of the moon shines over high noon
All I can say is we were way off

The sky brings it's light
Most to everyone's delight
While a poor boy and his motherlost
To a higher state of glory
They were trying to find their way

Somehow I knew you would be here
The poor boy had said to the piper with the beard
Will you, please do, play me another tune
I'll never tell if it was way off

The piper, he grinned, and took out a violin
Said, play this, young man, just do the best you can
A mime then passed by, wouldn't speak what was on his mind
I'd never tell if it was way off

The sky brings it's light
Most to everyone's delight
While a poor boy and his motherlost
To a higher state of glory
They were trying to find their way
