Old man holds his dreams inside
A picture held by withered hands
Tears start falling, sad smile, dust
Of dead hope in his hands
He tries to brush back
faded memories that come again
Resigned to fate, he smile and says
All good guys finish last
He'd never know the sun, he'd never know the rain
He'd never know the joy of losing
What he's had to gain
He'd never felt the blue sky, felt the blue sky
Ease his pain
Newborn dreams his first dream
Grabs for air between his withered hands
Tears start falling, hunger cries
The first few grains of sand
He laughs, he cries at all the things
That come into his sight
Resigned to fate, his parents take
Their newborn baby home
He'll never know the sun, he'll never know the rain
He'll never know the joy of losing
What he's had to gain
He'll never feel the blue sky, feel the blue sky
Ease his pain
