Little Treasures

Little treasures now appear to us
In dreams of youth
Found a penny in an old worn shoe
It meant so much to me
I gave it to a man in need
When my father saw what I had done
He finally called me 'son'
He said, "I'm really proud of what you've done,
"I think you'll do alright on your own"

And I wonder what the rain will bring
Tomorrow
When the storm today that rolled my way
Brought sorrow
And I wonder what the rain will bring
Tomorrow

Tuesday morning rolled around
I thought I heard the sound
Of my father leave and go to work
Although he had been gone
For months, or was it years
I can't remember through the tears
It doesn't really matter now
To me it all was just a dream

And I wonder what the rain will bring
Tomorrow
When the storm today that rolled my way
Brought sorrow
And I wonder what the rain will bring
Tomorrow

Little treasures now appear to us
In dreams of youth
Found a penny in an old worn shoe
It meant so much to me...
